Summer is quickly approaching, when children are no longer in school, family activities increase, food costs increase, and gas prices have already skyrocketed.
The Foodbank tries to prepare for the summer and unexpected changes. We have reduced our food order availability from every 3 months to every 2 months. We have an after-hours pick-up food locker for folks who can't get to the Foodbank during regular operating hours; we offer limited delivery service to those who would not otherwise be able to use our services, and we have begun a Saturday Foodbank option to accommodate those who may not be able to shop or pick up food during our regular business hours. This is in addition to "Second Saturday" which offers prepared bags with pantry staples, meat, dairy and more to neighbors. You can sign up for Second Saturday on our website https://solanconeighborhoodministries.org or by calling 717-786-4308.
